Finnish Somali Medical Association - SSLY ry
The Finnish Somali Medical Association, established in 2020, is a officially recognized Finnish organization. It brings together doctors and dentists of Somali desent. It focuses on enhancing their well-being, fostering professional growth, and strengthening community unity. The association's primary aim is to unite Somali-background doctors, dentists, and medical and dental students in Finland.
The association’s primary goal is to empower and encourage Somali-background doctors, dentists, and medical and dental students in Finland.
Key objectives include promoting health and wellness within the Finnish Somali community and serving as a bridge between the community and Finnish healthcare institutions. The association collaborates closely with health-promotion organizations and strives to support healthcare expertise and systems in Somalia wherever possible.
The Finnish Somali Medical Association is affiliated with the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim.
